The Founder’s Story
My passion for phlebotomy education comes from a reality I have seen repeatedly. Many people complete short courses and leave with a certificate, yet do not secure roles at all. Others manage to step into clinical environments feeling underprepared, unsure, and confused, without the depth of skill or confidence needed to practise safely.
In the UK especially, phlebotomy is often not taken seriously as a profession. Yet the reality is that the majority of clinical decisions doctors make are based on blood results that begin with the phlebotomist. When the foundation is weak, everything built on it is at risk.
Having practised as a phlebotomist in the UK and certified to practice in Canada, I have seen how undervaluing this role creates gaps in training, confidence, and professional identity. Phlebotomy should not be a “hidden” or overlooked department—it is a critical part of patient care that deserves respect, skill, and accountability.
